Matt Rabin, MSc, DC
Team Chiropractor
Dr. Matthew Rabin, DC returns to Garmin-Slipstream as Team Chiropractor for his second year running. Matt specializes in the field of Sports Chiropractic and, alongside traditional procedures, uses Neurological Integration, Proprioceptive Medicine, Extremity Manipulation and Kinesiotaping to assist with illness and injury recovery and a swift return to optimum performance.
Matt began practicing Chiropratic in London in 2002 and has subsequently completed his International Chiropractic Sports Science Diploma (ICSSD). Matt’s treatment approach is to examine and optimize the performance of each rider from ‘head to toe and inside out’. He looks at every aspect of the riders health - biomechanical, physiological, neurological, metabolical and emotional - to get the most accurate measure of how to best to improve their performance potential. Athletes are examined individually, and in intricate detail, in order to tailor their treatment programme specifically to target the areas that will allow them to consistently perform at their peak.
Highlights of Matt’s 2008 with the team were: helping the riders to exceed their expectations; post Tour of Portugal where the real competition began with some highly competitive tennis games against the mechanics; the Tour of Flanders and first week of the Classics where Matt was shocked by the vast numbers of people that came out in support, despite the wind and rain!
Matt keeps fit by playing football, squash and cycling while at home in the UK, and running whilst on the road with Garmin-Slipstream.
