Lowe takes yellow at Georgia!

Finishing 9th on the stage with the front group, Trent Lowe moved up to first place in the general classification and took over the yellow leader’s jersey in today’s stage 5 of the 2008 Tour de Georgia. One of the pro peloton’s top climbing talents, the 5’6″, 140-pound Australian is perfectly poised to defend – [...]
Paris-Camembert: The story behind the results

The race was really fast. 45 kph average even with the seven climbs in the last 70 km. We thought Pat’s break was gone as it was a very strong group. But the combined efforts of four other teams got them back. The two important climbs in the last 15 km were set to decide [...]

Looking back on Paris-Nice, Farrar looks forward to Milano-Sanremo

What a week! The last few days have been a bit rough and I have to admit I am glad to have them behind me. This was my second Paris-Nice, and after last year’s race, which was on an “easier” course, I knew what I was in for before the race started. Nevertheless, I was [...]
Results don't tell the full story

Well that sucked! I just couldn’t hold it when it went full gas on the last climb. I don’t really understand. I have been feeling a bit tired these last couple of days. I’ve not been my usual early riser and have not been feeling like I’ve been in control in the racing. I was [...]
Unlucky stage 3: live and die as a team

Well, we set the race up the best we could have for Trent. Sadly, he crashed into a pole avoiding another crash and broke his bike. Since the peloton was split to pieces every where, we were a ways behind in the car. So no spare bike. His teammates couldn’t help much either, as their [...]
GC hopes survive wind, rain and crash

Despite our “high wind warning,” shortened, 93.5 km stage today, Slipstream’s GC hopes were preserved…. Barely. Both Trent Lowe and David Millar made the final selection of 30 riders who contested the final sprint. Many of the top GC contenders were left behind by high winds that split the peloton to pieces. However, the news [...]
Prologue part 2: Lowe 2nd best young, team 3rd

With his 10th place finish in today’s prologue, the 23-year-old Australian Trent Lowe (left) is just 1″ down in the best young rider classification, currently lead by Andrly Grivko. Overall the team put in a solid performance and is currently third in the team classification, just 3″ off of Credit Agricole.
Valencia final: Lowe 11th overall; Duggan 2nd in mountains
The relatively uneventful and sunny stage 5 of the 2008 Volta a Valencia resulted in no significant changes to the overall results. Slipstream/Chipotle worked as a team to protect Trent Lowe’s position overall and succeeded. Timmy Duggan maintained his second place in the overall mountains classification. Slipstream stage 5 results 1. Alessandro Petacchi 3:12:54 + [...]
Dan's Volta a Valencia Stage 2: Good day at the office
Today’s critical break wasn’t going without one of the argyle boys! Timmy had an awesome ride and basically forced the breakaway over the first climb. He was out there so long that long I actually started to miss the guy. About 150km I think. He’s now 2nd in the mountains. So now we are in [...]
PezCycling News: Trent Low gets PEZ'd
Pez Cycling News featured a Q&A with Australian Trent Lowe shortly before he went off to ride Tour Med – where he finished a respectable 12th.
Dan's Volta a Valencia Stage 1: Riding in reverse
So the weather was great, but personally I wasn’t. The good news is that team rode well and we are pretty damn happy with the day. Trent and Ryder finished with the front group of about 24 guys. So now they will be fighting it out for the GC. The whole stage was driven by [...]
Dan's Tour Med Final! Day: Getting out of the gutter

Fighting for position all day really takes it out of you both physically and mentally. Then the second you relax, the moment you’ve been preparing for all day happens. The race goes in the gutter and the pain starts. (Dan’s pain face pictured left.) This is what happened in my case. We had already ridden [...]
