Doug Ellis was born in Boston and raised in Weston, Massachusetts. After graduating in 1982 from Weston High School, Doug went on to Yale College. He left Yale in 1987, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
Doug spent the next 15 years as a software engineer. His first post out of school was a several-year assignment at Telefonica I+D in Madrid, Spain, where he focused on building simulation environments for telecommunications software.
Doug then returned to the U.S. where he applied his trade at the financial firms of Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley. He led software teams that designed and built commodities trading systems.
Disillusioned with the world of finance, Doug returned to his love of software design, working for Next Software and Apple Computer.
In 1997, Doug founded the software consulting business, EdenSoft. At EdenSoft, Doug helped Fortune 100 clients create next-generation web strategies.
Doug currently lives with his wife and two children in New York City.
