Staff

The Staff of the team is dedicated and passionate group that works behind the scenes to make the enduring images and victories of the team’s riders possible. There are 44 staff members on the team including directors, physicians, soigneurs, mechanics, office staff and drivers. All are critical to the incredible challenge of managing an organization that operates around the globe, 24/7.

Doug Ellis
Chairman, Slipstream Sports

Doug Ellis was born in Boston and raised in Weston, Massachusetts. After graduating in 1982 from Weston High School, Doug went on to Yale College. He left Yale in 1987, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Doug spent the next 15 years as a software engineer. His first post out of school was a several-year assignment at Telefonica I+D in Madrid, Spain, where he focused on building simulation environments for telecommunications software.

Jonathan Vaughters
CEO, Director Sportif

In 2003, at only 30 years old, Jonathan decided to step away from a successful, but tough professional cycling career. He was perhaps young to retire, but clearly had maximized his abilities at a somewhat earlier age than most through ground-breaking training techniques, and extreme focus. In his 10 years as a professional cyclist he set the record up Mount Ventoux, and was an integral part of the winning team time trial squad in stage 5 of the 2001 Tour de France. Nonetheless, at 30, he decided to dedicate more time to his growing family, and to the business aspect of the fastest growing sport in the US.

Matt Johnson
President

Matt Johnson was born in Ottawa, Canada and has rich background in cycling and high-technology. For the past 10 years Matt has been the CEO of two successful high technology companies, BigWords.com and Visage Mobile. Matt grew both companies from start-up to over $30 million in annual revenue and eventual acquisitions by public companies. In between start-ups, Matt served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at St. Paul Venture Capital a leading venture firm with over $1 Billion under management.

Beth Seliga
Chief Financial Officer

Elizabeth Seliga serves as Slipstream Sports’ Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for managing the company’s global finance organization and is responsible for the overall financial management and stability of the company. Previously, Ms. Seliga was the Director of Finance at Baxter Holdings Corp. In that role, Seliga led corporate accounting, bankruptcy compliance, systems integration and operations and was an integral part of the overall success of the estate.
