After 201 km of miserably wet weather, crashes and general chaos, Trent Lowe (picture left w/JV thumbs up) held his own with the front group and managed to take over the white best young rider jersey during stage 2. His performance also moved him up from 6th to 5th in the overall classification.

With his 10th place finish in today’s prologue, the 23-year-old Australian Trent Lowe (left) is just 1″ down in the best young rider classification, currently lead by Andrly Grivko. Overall the team put in a solid performance and is currently third in the team classification, just 3″ off of Credit Agricole.

  • The relatively uneventful and sunny stage 5 of the 2008 Volta a Valencia resulted in no significant changes to the overall results. Slipstream/Chipotle worked as a team to protect Trent Lowe’s position overall and succeeded. Timmy Duggan maintained his second place in the overall mountains classification.
