On the road to the Olympics in Beijing, Taylor Phinney continues to demonstrate his world-class talents by bringing home a few medals from the Cape Town junior world championships.
Last Saturday, July 12, Taylor won the gold in the 3K individual pursuit. He is the current junior world record holder in the event. And today, he scored a bronze in the 26.8 km individual time trial event.
“Taylor rode super strong but not strong enough for the win,” wrote Connie Carpenter from the junior world time trial championships in Cape Town. “He lost to world rankings leader and the rider he feared most from Poland (Kwiatkowski) by 8 seconds! But Taylor got the bronze, which is a great result!!!
