The first three stages of the Eneco Tour are in the books and Heinrich Haussler is looking strong in the sprints. Director Sportif Geert van Bondt sent this report.
A lot of wind and mostly headwind with some showers as well from time to time. In the final there was a local lap of 40km so the wind would play a roll but all the guys were in front and very focused.
In the end it became a sprint but with 3km to go Raymond Kreder and Jack Bauer crashed even though they were sitting in good position. Heino took over took fourth.
Stage 2 was a team time trial and our boys did a respectable time.
On stage 3 it was a very fast start with an average above 50 km/h until four riders went away after 30km.
After 165km it was a small circuit for 23km so we could see that it was tricky at 4km before the finish with lots of turns.
Heino started his sprint a little bit too late but came very close to a win. But he now has the points jersey!
