The argyle armada finished up a great week of racing in Switzerland by taking home the team GC and going 1-2 in the best young rider competition with Andrew Talansky followed closely by Peter Stetina. Johnny Weltz sent this final report:
The last stage had a pretty hard profile. A lot of teams didn’t have so much luck this week, so they needed something to show today.
A early break went and we had Jack in it. They gained three minutes but not much more and the understanding in the break was not good.
They where caught back on the first climb of the day andthe next attack went where we had Tommy D in it.
But they didn’t get much of a chance either. Over the last 1 cat it blew up and a group of four went up the road, but a long decent and some sprinters left in the front didn’t leave them many chances and they were brought back with 5 km to go.
So a bunch sprint was on tap and we didn’t have anyone up there. But we had a great week of racing with the next generation showing who to look for in our team , with some of the most promising up-and-coming stars in cycling — 1-2 on the best young riders jersey!
And our established riders followed it up with a stage win, the team gc and several stage places.
