The argyle armada was in full swing today, with attacks from Peter Stetina, Tom Danielson and David Millar in the final kilometers of the stage making for a fantastic finale. Johnny Weltz sent this report:

The stage started flat out, with three laps of a very hard area. There wasn’t a kilometer that was flat!
Attacks went right and left, but no one got a go. Cam Meyerwas in most of them.
After 80 km the bunch sat up as it wasn’t possible for anyone to go clear. Two riders were sent off the front and it calmed down for 40 km and then it started again. The riders from yesterday’s break were all hurting so bad that they all got dropped from the front, Jack Bobridge first.
Over the last first category climb it was the final selection and in the first group we had four guys. With 15 km to go they attacked non-stop — Millar and Tommy D the most.
Millar was the last man in the last move and got caught with 100 metres to go!
Andrew Talansky was best man on the day as seventh and Peter Stetina took over as best young rider from Jack.
Dave showed that he might still have a word to say about the GC, as it now seems pretty open!
