Tyler Farrar took care of business in the stage 3a sprint of the Three Days of De Panne, opening up his sprint win account for 2010 in style — winning on a tricky cobbled street and after a rough couple of days.
“It feels good to get a win,” said Farrar. “The team rode great after two really hard days and there is nothing they could have done better. Hopefully this will turn into an even bigger day for Team Garmin-Transitions. We still have the TT this afternoon.”
Farrar told Cyclingnews that being his first win of the year makes it a little sweeter, but that the cobbled streets made it a tough win too.
“It feels so good. The first win of the year always does,” he said. “The cobbles made it hard and it was a crazy sprint with bikes bouncing all over the place. I’m an okay rider on them but it was close. The team was great and they killed themselves to make sure it came down to a sprint.”
Director sportif Matt White put his feelings simply:
“A well deserved win for Tyler. The team rode super in controlling the stage and Tyler delivered!”
