Garmin-Transitions’ sport director Matt White is ready to head into the Spring Classics season with the Omloop Het Neiuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne races.

I’ve got a good feeling — the guys from Qatar and Oman will come with good conditioning and fast legs. Those guys have missed winter so they haven’t had a risk of getting sick with the flu which is quite common. They laid low this week and we’ve had some good recon training of the Omloop course and the forecast for the weekend is sensational for this time of year.

Tyler Farrar and Martijn Maaskant are the key guys for us this weekend. Martijn definitely for Saturday unless it’s a bunch sprint, which would obviously be for Tyler — but it’s going to be 12 degrees and a lot of wind, so a big group will not likely arrive at the finish together.

Five guys are coming from Qatar and Oman, with Millar making a guest appearance on Saturday. Kreder will be replacing the injured Cozza this weekend, but he is already going well winning the best young rider at Algarve and for riders like him, this is their bread and butter.

I’m happy in general how things are going, despite the bad luck of crashes and illness. I’ve never seen it to this degree ever before on a team, it’s incredible! But the key guys we are expecting results from going into March are still in one piece.
