Director’s report from Matt White:
We were positioned in eleventh place before the start of today’s final city circuit in downtown Adelaide. But we were really looking at getting Robbie Hunter into the top ten to obtain valuable Pro Tour points.
Eleventh place would not give us anything.
The plan was to gain bonus seconds in the two bonus sprints but that was the hard part — keeping the bunch together for the two sprints on a very fast city circuit. We managed to do that and Robbie finished second in both sprints moving up to ninth place and gaining the Pro Tour points. In the final Trent Lowe went clear with two others after the last bonus sprint and the three escapes were only caught on the last lap of the race.
The team rode again very well on today’s stage and throughout the tour and was voted by all as the most aggressive team of Tour Down Under!
