Farrar two-for-two: Circuit Franco-Belge, stage 2

Director’s report from Lionel Marie:

Tyler has the number 111 in this race, so it could mean three times getting a “1″ — and he was on his way to that as he won again for the second time today!

The stage was a long one, 225km, but the weather was not bad except for 90% of it into a head wind. Like yesterday the first 15km were fast until a break with four guys got away.

It went up to 12 minutes and we were in good control with Kilian, Tom, Huub and Ricardo on the front chasing it down on the last lap. A strong Martijn jumped on all the attacks from there and pushed hard with 5km to go.

CJ took over the lead at 2k and Tyler finished the team effort off with another convincing win!

Tomorrow we only have 178km, ha ha! But we are confident with this team we have here!

After the sting of losing the 2016 cycling events in Wisconsin today, this brings the smile back. Congrats team, on 2 in a row.

Really great. I would love to see Tyler take the overall.

This quote is directly from the Cycling News Race Commentary for today’s stage:

“Team Garmin-Slipstream led the peloton and was in total control of the race.”

How cool is that? Keep it up guys!

Tyler is on a tear! Watch out, Cav and Greipel.

    Great teamwork once again.
