Director’s report from Johnny Weltz:
It was the typical promenade to Madrid and then the some fast laps before a bunch sprint to finish up the final Grand Tour of the season.
We didn’t have much to do today so it was up to the guys to finish the Vuelta in good condition — s race that we had been dominant in from the beginnig all the way through, with three amazing stage wins and Tommy D one of the favorites for the GC.
Also, with a young man Dan martin who finished his first Grand Tour, a Kiwi who wrote history by finish all three big tours, and a young man who had to go home for a family tragedy.
The worlds, unfortunately, played a major role in the last third of the race — riders who have obligations towards the worlds selection for their country. But we are satisfied with a stage win in all three disciplines — TT, mountain and sprint, and a lot of close seconds too!
The riders and the team’s hard working staff has left a very nice impression for its first Vuelta and a good image for its sponsors — it was nice to be part of.
