Sutton wraps-up second overall – Tour of Britain

Director’s report from Matt White:

Well it went down to the wire and CJ did everything that was possible in the closing stage Circuit race in down town London — with the help of Huub, Trent and Tom who shut everything down for the first and third bonus sprints. Cj finished 2nd on both sprints and picking up 4 valuable seconds.

So going into the final sprint he was still in fourth but only one second off of third overall and two seconds off of second place, so needed to still finish in the top 3 to get time bonuses and finish on the podium.

He finished third on the stage, and in doing so leap-frogged over both riders and finished a very well deserved second place on GC, as well as tied for points on that classification!
