Director’s report from Johnny Weltz:
Like the prologue the day was rain, but it was 15 degree warmer which was good for us. David lived up to his favorite role as a TT champ, leading the stage all the way to the very end where world champ Fabian Cancellara beat him by only 30 seconds.
Our GC man Tommy D did a super TT and finished seventh on the day. As one of the best GC guys he is now also seventh on GC! Svein was another one of our solid TT guys who did a good performance. He didn’t like the wet roads so much though. The solid block of TT results brought our team to win the team classification on the stage and lead it as well!
Tomorrow we have the first big test in the mountains.
