Millar in the breaks again – Tour de France, stage 19

Team Garmin-Slipstream’s veteran racer David Millar was once again in the breakaway today, continuing his aggressive racing over the three-week Tour de France.

In the finale, the young Martijn Maaskant was up in the field sprint, but had to brake in the final 150 meters as he was nearly put into the barriers by a rider swinging off the front lead-out — but still hung in for tenth on the day!

Good on David for having a go !

Bad news that Brad lost 4 seconds on Armstrong ?

Trés belle course de David, dommage que le peloton n’a pas voulu que l’echappée aille au bout. Bravo pour la 10° place de Martijn. Bonne chance pour le vantou demain. On est tous avec vous.

Stellar team performance this year. It’s great to see David being so aggressive after his tough Tour last year. All my thoughts and energy to Wiggo for Ventoux tomorrow!

It’s lucky Martijn got out alive after yet another dirty leadout by Columbia. Renshaw almost put him into the spectators section and right out over the barricade. The only change is that it was Martijn rather than Hushovd or Tyler blocked by the Columbia Clown Posse.

Correction, it was Tony Martin blocking Martijn, not Renshaw.
