Wiggins back to fourth, three in stage top ten – Tour de France, stage 18

Team Garmin-Slipstream’s GC hope Bradley Wiggins rode a strong individual time trial today, finishing sixth just behind teammate David Millar. His time was enough to move him back up the overall standings after Wednesday’s losses in stage 17, but not quite enough to get back on the podium. However, he is only 11 seconds back from third with three stages still to go!

On the day the team did well placing three riders into the top ten with Millar taking the highest place at fifth.

    Well done Bradley !
My name is Ben. I’m French and my girlfriend is British. We discovered you at the Olympics in Beijing and we instantly became huge fans of yours. We’re really impressed by your performance on the Tour this year. We’re 100% behind you and we really hope to see you on the podium on the Champs Elysées on Sunday.
You and David Millar are doing a great job for British Cycling anyway and I hope it will help develop this wonderful sport in your great country.
Congratulations to all the rest of you guys ! You’re a great team.

  • MtnGeek

My Apologies to the Captain. Nicely don Mr. Millar.

Lookin’ good this morning so far. Keep up the attacks DM.

Off to the mountains and the Courage Classic.

  • Glen in Lemont

Let’s go garmin!!! One more climb and 11 seconds to gain. Knock the old man off the podium and replace him with argyle.

Time to line up the train with Millar, DZ and Ryder at the base of the climb and let the locomotive VDV deliver Wiggo within the last kilometer. It will be hard as hell but the Argyle fans are right behind you and believe in all of you.
