A day of rest… er, interviews – Tour de France 2009

The first rest day (in name only) of the Tour de France is upon Team Garmin-Slipstream. What does that mean for the team? Well, for the riders it means an easy training ride followed by media interviews, and more media interviews, lunch, media interviews, maybe a nap, interviews…

For the mechanics, it is a chance to catch-up on their work, making sure the bikes are all in top shape.

Wow, that whole bus is a giant moving bike garage – cool! Beats strapping a dozen or so Thule’s on top, I guess. Also, a quick glance at the first bus pic looks like the bike has tiny tires the size of a chainring, a little trompe l’oeil from the camera.

Good luck fellas and don’t get too disheartened with what some of the other teams are doing on their rest days. The real fans know what’s what.
