Tour de Suisse – stage 1
Director’s report from Johnny Weltz:
The first stage was a 7.8 km time trial, seemingly made for the Swiss home boy, who won clear.
Ryder Hesjedal and Tom Danielson did ok in and clocked a time around their fellow climbers, as well as Cameron Meyer. That is a good ride for the young Aussie. Christian Vande Velde had his return to racing after his injury in the Giro and did it in a proper way, missing a good time from lack of racing. But from now on the race will change character as we have high mountains every day for the whole week!
