Millar in the mix on Ventoux, into 4th on GC: Dauphine Libere, stage 5

David Millar - Dauphine Libere, stage 5 Director’s report from Lionel Marie:

Great job and great ride for David MIllar! Yesterday he was the faster guy in second part of TT and today the team was around him and Dan Martin all day, protecting them for the final climb.

Steven Cozza was there for bottles.Svein Tuft like a body guard for the first 120 kilometers with Dave — Christian Meier and Timmy Duggan with Dan. A total team effort.

Unfortunately for Dan he was not feeling well today, perhaps hypoglycemia…

But for Dave an intelligent race as always, following the good form he has. It is a big result for him and for the team on top of Mont Ventoux! It’s great to see him smiling.

A good job for a good team!

Dave Millar has been one of my favourite cyclists for many years, such a great sight on a time trial bike. Loved the win into Beziers years ago. Was a pleasure to see him in Liverpool last year. Yesterday’s TT result was a brilliant return to form and today was unbelieveable, shame on those Eurosport wonks not to flag his performance. Roll on Le Tour, maybe DM and Wiggo can get us a couple of stages. Chapaux

Trés belle montée du vantou du grand David Millar, mais sa fait longtemps que l’on ne l’avait pas vue en aussi grande forme. Bonne chance pour la suite.

Well done David if you keep this up you’ll soon be as good a climber as your Scottish namesake.

looking good, had me thinking of his possibilities for the future. i always found millar a little whiny with incidents in the past but that is no reason he does not have a strong future.

like to see some connect.garmin.action on this ventoux stage

After a tough couple of months since the team’s marvelous March, seeing David ride like this is just fabulous. It looks like everything is coming together at the right time. Keep up the amazing team work.
