Jonathan Vaughters' best US rides on Men's Journal

Team Garmin-Slipstream’s CEO Jonathan Vaughters is offering his opinion for the best rides in the United States in a special column over the next four weeks for Men’s Journal.

His first entry is Visalia to Sequoia National Park, a 110 mile ride that starts in the orange groves of California’s central valley and rides to the General Sherman Tree, with plenty of climbing along the way.

Check back over the next four weeks for more of JV’s best US rides!

This is awesome. We’re driving to Sequoia in June, going through Visalia. I may have to make another trip to ride this route. Thanks Jonathan.

My wife and I rode through Napa Valley (near Yountville) on June 16th and saw a rider head-to-toe in Garmin-Chipotle kit on a Felt bike. Was this a G-C team member on a solo training ride, and if so, who? Or was it an uber-fan geeked out with the Felt bike to match the kit? Who’s training in N. Cal in June?

I live in Visalia and do this ride quite often. It is the real deal! 21 miles/5,500 ft. from park entrance to Lodgepole, a few miles beyond General Sherman. The scenery is out of this world!
