Race report from Johnny Weltz
Once again it was a fast start. We started with 10km on flat roads then a bumby ride inland where a lot of attacks went off but with no fruit. Once the climbs started there was a big crash where Cozza was involved — later he had to pack it in because of a muscle cramp . He was ok after the stage.
No serious brake went until 50km to go where a strong group of six riders took off. There was one rider in there who was up there on GC, so they didn’t get a lot of time. After the field brought the break close the sprinter’s teams took over and drilled the last bit in. It turned out to a bunch sprint where Thor won again.
Dan had another good day and didn’t have any problem being where he had to be the whole day.
