Great ride by Brad. It just goes to show that if you lose a few kilos the climbing can't help but improve. I do have to ask though, why is Practice Nurse Anthony such a prat?

the team uses Powertaps built into their Zipps. More then likely a team issue SLC+. Full wireless and rock solid with the Garmin Edge 705.

I like examining these files b/c I also ride with a PowerTap, Garmin 705, and use Garmin Connect, with the caveat that I'm just a weenie Saturday club rider.

What I found interesting:
* The duration is about right: Menchov finished in 3:15:24 and this file's duration is 03:17:03. Wiggins was officially timed 1:47 behind Menchov. Somebody pushed the Garmin start/stop timer within seconds of the race director's official time :)
* To get the best view of the last climb, go to the Garmin Connect player, select 'Total Time' as the x-axis and overlay Elevation and Power. It's hard to know exactly, but he probably averaged 375-400 W on the 2nd part of the climb. A decent club rider would do maybe 250W here, so that's some great power. Assuming he weighs ~75 kilos (how light is he right now, anyway?) that's a ~5.0 - 5.3 W/kg ratio. Way to go!
* Also interesting to see dramatic power spikes with a gradual power output flattening near the end. I didn't see the video, but wonder if Wiggins matched the group accelerations in the first part -- the 500W and 550W spikes -- and later was gapped, riding the remainder at his own steady pace? Would make sense.

Obviously I have too much time on my hands. Back to work...

[Note to Garmin Connect: would be great to highlight one portion of a file and see stats only for it]
