Wiggo changing his style, Giro stage 4

Bradley Wiggins - Giro d'Italia, stage 4Race report from Bradley Wiggins

Today’s stage was a strange affair for myself and the boys after losing our team leader yesterday, Mr. Vande Velde.

On a personal note I continued to see a progression in my climbing by staying with the leaders until 1k to go to the summit finish. Seemed a little strange as it was less than a month ago I was battling across the pave with the likes of Boonen, Pottzato, Hushovd and company — whereas today it felt like and episode of ‘Lord of the Rings’ on a mission to the mountain of Sodor with the likes of Di Luca, Cunego, Leipheimer and Simoni!

Another epic stage in a chaotic race — Garmin are a man down but tomorrow is another day and we are ready for battle!

I could hardly believe the stage results: Wiggins at 32″ back after that climb?? Beat the rest of the team by 10 minutes? Wow! Surprised the heck out of me. I can only say “great job!” Really impressed.

    Nice one Bradley!
Curious how a trackie (fixed gear/perfect spin et al) switches to O-symetric rings. Quite a change!
    Great effort today.
