Zabriskie on the final podium in Castilla y Leon

Team Garmin-Slipstream’s GC rider David Zabriskie finished Castilla y Leon keeping his third place podium spot well protected, with his teammates around him in the effort.

In other news, Blake Caldwell celebrated his birthday in style — on the bike riding for DZ. Happy birthday Blake!

Director’s report from Johnny Weltz

People were really tired after yesterday’s hard mountain stage. There were a lot of riders popping around the camper with comments on DZ’s brutal attack on the mountain yesterday! As Christian commented on DZ’s new style, he hasn’t seen him attack since the nineties!

So it was a easy day for us in the bunch — it came down to a bunch sprint which was won by Valverde. As it was on a hill we did a lead out for Huub who finished around 20th. All in all we had a really good week here.
