Milano-San Remo, Dean in top-twenty (updated)

Team Garmin-Slipstream’s Julian Dean put in a strong race in Milan-San Remo, making it into the final selection for the race up the Poggio. The team’s star sprinter Tyler Farrar crashed out of the race.

Julian Dean, Milan-San Remo

Director’s report from Matt White:

The team rode a well today even though our best rider Julian didn’t achieve the result that he was looking for. He rode a brilliant race but just ran out of steam in the final 200m — having to move up on his own he got stuck on the front when Haussler made his big dash for the line. The team functioned very well again yesterday and Is certainly in a much better position for the classics than last year.

The only negative to come out of our 16 day rode trip to Italy was Tyler’s crash yesterday that looks like a broken collarbone. We will know more this morning.

Well done Julian, what a pity there were no other Argylles with you to help in the sprint, it really needed a team effort to stand any chance in that sprint finish,

    cheers

Nice ride Julian and Ryder. 2 seconds after 300 K, Hummm… not too shabby! How’s Tyler doing? Hope no major injuries. Italy was treating him so well.

I’m hoping it’s not a broken clavicle for Tyler. Get better soon mate.
