Murcia stage 2: Julian Dean 3rd at end of strange day

Huub Duyn, Vuelta a Murcia stage 2 Julian Dean finished third at the end of today’s bizarre stage . Most of the stage was neutralized due to 90 kph winds and the peloton rode sections of the course sheltered by race and team vehicles. The riders were allowed to contest the final three kilometers.

Tom Danielson, Huub Duyn (pic’d above) and Lucas Euser are all on the same time as the race leader going into tomorrow’s 16-kilometer individual time trial.

That’s a very kiwi podium! Way to go julz, it was always going to be tough to beat a track world champ in a 10km race, if everyone had gone over that climb I’m sure you’d have taken the win

Great work Julian. I don’t think I’ve ever seen two kiwis on a podium in Europe before, although I’m sure you’d prefer it to have been the other way round. Next time! Looks like your luck might be turning.
