In a special feature on ‘other’ comeback tales at the Tour Down Under, ESPN.com talks to Timmy Duggan about his amazing recovery from his high speed crash last year.
From the interview: “[The crash] was really a big shock to my central nervous system,” Duggan said. “It’s tough to recover from a brain injury at the highest level of sport. If I had a desk job and recovered 99 percent of my function, I’d be fine. If you’re a cyclist and you’re missing 1 percent, you’re off the back.”
