This is the coolest idea ever!! I wish I had a grand to throw at you guys!! I would love to help support the team anyway I could! I think this will really help keep people glued to the Argyle Armada and the great crusade we are fighting!

  • alex.rogers-UK

hi- is there any chance of a cheaper package for people who just want updates?

  • bonxie

If you average 200 Chipotle burritos each year, Club membership will pay for itself!

  • Argyle Army

Dear Admin: Do you know if the team is going to change the design of its kit for 2009 or keep the same look? Just wondering. Thanks

  • EC

If you ate 200 burritos, you’d be too fat to ride your bike.

  • Sam

I agree with alex.rogers-UK above. A cheaper membership would be great for all your non-US fans over here in the UK & Europe where getting to the US to ride with the team and eat Buritos’ is tricky! Also I know many fans who already have a Garmin in both car and on bike because they sponsor you guys.

I would simply love the team strip, a water bottle or two, JV’s race insights and be able to make a donation towards the anti-doping expenses myself.

    Good luck for 2009

    Sam – UK

I second Sam and Alex’s comments. While this is a cool offer for fans who live in the US, it’d also be cool to have a more “international” package for those of us who can’t take full advantage of the US-based offers.

guys from the pictures it looks like there is a new kit – more argyle with yellow shoulders

  • Admin

Hello Dawn, Sam and Alex – The team offers fans opportunities to interact and be a part of the team – all of which are free. There’s our Twitter that is free and provides regular race updates. There’s the monthly Fangyle contest – which is open to all fans with compelling argyle stories. Winners get argyle goodies too. There are the riders and the staff at events – most internationally based – who are happy to take a moment for an autograph or a photo. And there will still be opportunities to buy merchandise and other items as the new designs are ready.

  • Admin

Argyle Army & Alex – Yes the team has a new kit for 2009. We should have a full post on the design this week. But there is more argyle and more orange.

  • Argyle Army

Admin: Thanks for the update. If you don’t mind I have 2 more questions; 1) Can you share how many people have singed up for the Argyle Club so far. I am still trying to decide and want to make sure I don’t get locked out. 2) Is there still a plan to launch a online Garmin-Slipstream store on this website. This would alos help our international friends to get Argyle Gear to support the team. Thanks as always for all your work on ths site and keeping us all up to date on our favorite cycling team.

  • james mann

Dear Admin, I like the idea, but for me it’s not because of funds, but that’s ok, good luck. I would like to buy team kits and merchandise. One more thing how can we donate money even if not a big amount?

  • david

The Santa Cruz stage of the Tour of California is on my Saturday ride! Up Bonnie back down Empire! I go up Empire and down Bonnie… to catch the tail wind back into Santa Cruz. But now I’ll reverse. If the wind stays true to form you’ll be flying down 1. I often clock 40 mph and I’m nothing. It’ll be at your back. Hey… you just got my road fixed for me!

  • Garminchipotleluvr

I am also hoping that u all would launch an online store. And am wondering if there is anymore spots in the argyle club?

  • http://www.christianvandeveldefanclub.com Maggie

I wish I could purchase particular items seperately. I definitely can’t afford the whole kit and caboodle. :(

I thought you guys were opening a store?

    Maggie

  • Admin

Never fear Maggie! We will most certainly have separate items for sale come 2009. In fact, it looks like the team’s online store should be up and running by Jan/Feb.

Team Garmin-Slipstream will always have many ways and levels at which folks can connect with the team and riders. The Argyle Club just happens to be a way for people to provide additional support in return for a variety of benefits.

All best for a happy holiday!

As usual; you guys rock! I will keep my eyes open! Anyone in admin (Woody-Kathy) want a Maggie made 100% wool felted hat in slipstream colors? It would be my honor to recognize your level of rock-ness.. I’ll post a pic of a finished product soon. :)

  • Spuds Mckenzie

I don’t like cycling but I eat chipotle every day. Can I join just for the savings on burritos?

  • Fatty McGee

Chipotle is providing all members “FREE BURRITOS for the YEAR”

So how many? I love burritos if I can have a free burrito every day I will join up.

  • Bert

    Hello Admin,
Thanks for the most exiting team in the peleton!
Why is Chipotle not on the new kit? Are you going to race Paris-Roubaix? Will the site store have 2008 kit? I got a jersey for Christmas, and want to match it:) I live in Chicago area, and train the same roads as Christian. What a blast it was seeing him in Downers Grove last year. Any idea if he will be there this year?
Thanks, and good luck in 2009, I can’t wait!
