L’Avenir stage 8: High mountains take their toll

Today’s high mountain stage – with three category 1 climbs and one category 2 climb – and a very motivated young French rider named Arnold Jeannesson left the contenders chasing down large time gaps. Despite his efforts to reel in the breakaway, Peter Stetina finished 17th on the stage and more than 6 minutes down on the stage winner. He moved to 10th in the overall with USA teammate Tejay Van Gaderen now in 8th.
