After all the breakaways, time bonuses, mountain top finishes and a time trial, it’s amazing that the overall win comes down to just a few seconds. In this sport, every second counts, and every day. I had one of my best rides of my season today in the Tour of Utah final individual time trial, but Louder just went faster. He took the overall by less than 10 seconds (still awaiting official results). I held on to 2nd overall, which we are still pleased with. But when the victory was so close, it’s hard to take.

Tom, Peter and Jason all had stellar rides today, all placing in the top 15. Peter crushed the young rider competition and the team was 2nd on team GC. I am so lucky to have these guys around me. Truly the best teammates and support staff around. Thanks to everyone for the inspiring emails and support.

Next up… USPro Championships in Greenville, SC.

I am pretty sure these loses can be the hardest! However great job to everyone!! You all gave ‘em hell and put on a fun show for all the fans of the Argyle Armada! Congrats and thank you for doing what you all do!

Way to go Blake and the rest of the Garmin guys! Great racing and great results for the younger riders on the team. I hope to see some of you guys kicking it live at the Tour of California next year!
