Tour de France stage 17 profileProbably the most challenging of all the mountain days, stage 17 enters the Alpes and includes no less than three hors category climbs for a leg-breaking 210.5 km.

The first climb, the Col du Galibier comes just 79 km into the race. The first of the HC climbs, the Galibier is 20.9 km long with an average grade of 5.9%. The day’s second climb is the 29.2 km Col de la Croix-de-Fer with 5.2% average grades. The day finishes with the beloved Alpe d’Huez, complete its 21 switchback and crazy Dutch fans. This final HC climb is 13.3 km with an 8.6% average grade.

Stage 17 is scheduled to start at 11:40 and finish between 17:12-17:51.
