Writing for the Chicago Tribune, Christian Vande Velde talks about his “rest day” in Pau and the welcome site of a plate full of fresh Chipotle burritos.
“‘Rest days’ usually involve anything besides resting, but today I got some good Z’s in between riding my bike, introducing Chipotle burritos to France, massage, chiropractor, anti-doping testing and a few interviews. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Where else can I eat a burrito prepared by the owner and founder of Chipotle? It was the best burrito I’ve ever had — and in France!”

Keep up the good work, Christian!
(I love those Chipotle burritos too. LOL!)

After the last couple stages, I’ll bet he ate every last one on that platter. Dang, now I’m hungry, thanks!
Anybody thought about introducing those burritos to the UK….? ……Please?
You deserve it!
Is TdF always such an insane media circus that a team member has hardly a free moment without some mic in their face? The sight of the team sitting down for burritos surrounded by a ring of media feeders made me sad (although it WAS chipotle which would make it easier.) Sure, it was a media event, but gad, give the media a feed, too, and get them out of the faces of the cyclists for awhile. But then again, it wouldn’t be the Tour without the scrum!
Christian WOW !!
38 second gap in position #3 YOU ROCK !!!
Christian Vande Velde & Garmin Chipotle take the Tour… How sweet would that be!!

Thanks to you, to the riders and staff of the team, and to the sponsors who are all devoted to “riding clean.”
