All for a chance at the yellow jersey
My attack today on Super Besse gave me confidence. Attacking like that is way out of my character. I am a conservative rider and that was anything but.
I would’ve surely finished with the leaders today, but I risked it all for a chance at the yellow jersey for either Dave or myself. The Tour is long though, and even though I spent some energy in the final today, it gives me confidence for the future.

It is great that you have more confidence because we have all the confidence in the world in you, David and the rest of the team.
I would say that the Tour has already been a great success for you guys. I know there are great things to come, but anything else is just icing on a very large cake.
Christian, you and the entire Garmin-Chipotle effort are making the pro-peleton exciting, inspiring, must see TV! It has been a long time since I have gotten out of my chair during a race and screamed at the tv, but this week I have done so twice!
You all have shown us 2 things thus far, 1- Cycling is a sport we can believe in again, and 2- Heros are still out there riding their butts off!

I was pulling for you the whole way. You guys have the yellow numbers, now all you need is the yellow Jersey. It is exciting to see this American Team doing so well in the tour. Keep attacking. You will break free.
