Race report from DS Chann McRae
It was crazy today! An 11-man break formed early and we had to chase freaking hard! On the climb with Levi, Peter Stetina gets to within seven seconds of the breakaway. Levi will not pull through, so they don’t close the gap and the break goes up to two minutes. We chase again with five of us and four Healthnets and close the gap to 45 second with 10k to go.
Santiago Botero is in the break and going like mad. With 2 km to go, the break riders are being absorbed. Some stay off, some are caught. Blake Caldwell, Pat McCarty and Peter go well on the climb - maybe top ten over the summit, but Botero stays off and wins.
But now we have 3 cards - Blake, Pat and Peter - to play for the GC and the rest of race.

Once again the question of Tommy D comes into play.
Is he going to give us something to cheer about?
GO ARGYLE
Sounds like a hard day in the saddle. Anytime you have to chase Levi is going to be that way I guess! good luck tomorrow guys!!
In Tommy D I trust!
He is just working on his comeback story for next year. I can see it now….Let me get out my crystal ball.
Versus does a piece on Tommy D during the 2009 TDF highlighting his comeback to form. I am sure he will be fresh of off a high placing at the Dauphine’ and a stage win at Paris Nice.
GJ in the race today, it was great seeing you guys (I was volunteering in the 2nd neutral feed zone) keep it up! Its fun to see you guys as the clean team racing against rock racing.
Can you let us know how Tom Danielson did? We’re hoping to see him in GC contention, in the Cascade Classic.
TD’s form will come. He is special and I wish more than anyone, the best. But, there are some great young riders on this squad that can climb too. Collectively, I hope they crush Levi who really is wierd, and never been a good teamate or a fair breakaway companion since he selfishly rode away from his teamate Heras in the Vuelta when he made the podium, and also never really helped any of his Disco teamates when it mattered in big moments including TD and company at Brasstown last year.
