“Will’s exuberance almost won it today but his inexperience lost it,” said Mr. Vaughters. “But he’ll be in that position again many times over his career. And the next time it happens he’ll get it right. … I don’t know if Will really believed he could race the Tour. I think he was a little bit scared of it.
