ESPN.com: Cycling world hopes worst is behind

Writing for ESPN.com, Bonnie Ford looks at “..the systematic change the sport is striving for…” and how the 2008 Tour de France started without the traditional prologue as perhaps a symbolic gesture to a cycling world reborn.

Said Vaughters: “I’m extremely hopeful that this is going to be a fun Tour de France and that you guys in the press corps are going to be writing stories about tactics and strategy and equipment and technology, and that the story isn’t going to turn into a negative quagmire.”
