GP Correios final: Farrar 5th in sprint, Martin holds on to 8th overall

Race report from DS Johnny Weltz

Like the other days, it was a very fast start and a group took off right at the start. Tom “breakaway” P was in there and the group worked up to a gap of five minutes. Then, about halfway into the stage and after all the sprinters had made it over a category 2 climb, the chase was on. The last bits of the break were caught with 25 km to go.

Slipstream took over to prepare the sprint for Tyler (right) with 10 km to go and he was well delivered. In the sprint, Robert Hunter was pretty rough. Several riders protested but the jury didn’t change anything. Tyler finished fifth and GC stayed the same.
