Chris Sutton, Delta Tour finale I had awesome legs today. We were actually working for Martijn. We led out the first sprint for the bonus seconds and Martijn was on my wheel. Maggy hit out first, then I kicked with 250 meters to go. I opened up a gap on Credit Agricole and won the sprint. I knew then we all would ride great.

Then Martijn got in a good break and we thought it was gone. But it got pulled back. Two guys jumped off the front just after and I went across. Then we were soon joined by another eight riders or so. We had a good break after the 90 km mark. It went out to two minutes. Then we got pulled back.

Next bonus sprint I was second, picking up more bonus seconds. The boys gave me a perfect lead out. JD crashed but rejoined us and still pulled the sprint for me. He swung off with 300 meters to go. I went and got boxed in. Got out but left it to late. I ran second on the stage, enough for the overall win of the Delta Tour. I won the young rider and the sprint jersey also.

Great job by all the boys. Especially JD with skin off him everywhere.

I won’t wear all jerseys at once. But I will hang them up…CJ
