Chris “CJ” Sutton’s close second place finish (pictured above) and his bonus sprint efforts on today’s final stage gave him what he needed to take the overall win of the 2008 Delta Tour. With the help of his teammates, CJ also earned the best young rider and the points classification overall! The Argyle Armada rode a super aggressive race and finished the three-day tour ranked second overall.
“The team of six was super today! We covered, controlled and the stole the tour in the dash for the line!” said Directeur Sportif Matt White. “CJ stepped it up today after a very hard Giro. With help from the team for the bonus sprints, he was able to come within 2 seconds of lead before the finish. He then got a super lead-out off Martijn and Julian Dean! He finish second in the final and won the tour! He won!!!”
