MedS4_Martin Up and down. Left and right. All done at warp speed. That about sums up today. 2500 meters altitude gained and never going above 600 meter. About one inch of flat road and an average speed of over 42kph.

The break didn’t go until 75 km and even then it was only allowed 1′30″. I really have no idea how we missed the break as it was about the only “Peterson-less” move of the day. Pat and Christophe had a few digs but Tom was incredible. He went with just about anyone who even considered attacking. Tyler also did an awesome job just to stay in the peleton. It was seriously fast!

As the finish was uphill, we had the bizarre situation of setting up a sprint for me and Trent. Things were going beautifully going into the final kilometer when half the group went left and the long way on a roundabout. I tried to follow Trent who saw the route and went short, but there was a guy on my right. So I went from top 10 to about 50th. I made a flat out effort to get back up front and just got there as the sprint started. I didn’t lose any time, which was lucky. And that’s about it.

Still 7 seconds off of that white t-shirt. Try again tomorrow and maybe we might get that break we worked so hard for today!
