Who will make the cut? That’s the theme for June as the riders race their hearts out in Portugal, the Netherlands and France. They’re racing for the results that will earn them one of nine spots on the 2008 Tour de France squad.
Up north in the Netherlands, a hardy crew of sprinters and Classics riders are battling it out on the windy deltas of the Zeeland region during the three day Delta Tour. There’s Chris Sutton, Julian Dean, Magnus Backstedt, Martijn Maaskant, Will Frischkorn and Kilian Patour.
In Portugal for the GP Correios and later in France for the Route du Sud, a very different squad is taking on mountains, flying down descents and setting up sprints. They’re putting in hard kilometers and trying to make the day’s breakaway to earn the results they need to make that next big step. These riders include Tyler Farrar, Trent Lowe, Christophe Laurent, Dan Martin, Tom Peterson and Pat McCarty.
Each day’s results is one day closer to the final Tour de France selection on June 23.

I can’t wait to see who makes the cut! I can’t ever remember being so excited about who is going to make a Tour team. Usually with most teams you know who is gonna be on the squad. The Argyle have a lot of bullets to load in the gun. Can’t wait to see them heat up the Tour!
