25 May
Traversing the Dolomite mountains, today’s stage - with its six classified climbs and almost 5,000 meters of climbing - was all about survival. After two hard weeks of racing, and more fun to come, the Slipstream/Chipotle H3O crew’s sole focus today was to finish. Ryder Hesjedal (above) was the first across while the rest of the riders finished together.
With a 12.85 km mountain time trial tomorrow, a couple of medium mountain stages May 30-31, a few fun flat stages, and the final ITT, the riders still have plenty of opportunities to fly the argyle this next week.

a bad day for Vandevelde
CVV said that he was going to sit up today. He wants to try and win a stage, and being in the top 20 on GC, he wouldn’t be able to get free. He took a couragous shot yesterday and came up a little short.
Hang in there team this race has been a tough one and the weather has not been great either. Hope you all do well in the TT. All the best from Victoria.
12,000 meters???? That is insane.
Oops Kennett - You are right that 12,000 is a bit too much. Thanks. The correction has been made.
