Digging deep for a dream

For reasons unknown to me, I decided to go in the breakaway today. Little did I know that today would end up being an epic stage with an elite group all thinking the same thing as myself. I was already in trouble when Sella attacked, and in all honesty, I didn’t even think about going with him.

Today turned out to be one of the hardest days on a bike that I have ever had. Yeah. It’s always relative, but in all honesty, I can’t believe how fast we were going. It was a dream scenario actually for myself and the team. But I was lacking a little bit to take back the less than three minutes that I needed to retake the pink jersey. I tried. I really don’t think that I could’ve gone much deeper today. It just wasn’t going to happen.

Tomorrow…My god, I’m scared. Today looks like a cake walk in comparison. Maybe I will go in a break again? Hmmmm I don’t think so.

Your team is awesome, and it’s almost certain that you’ll be awarded ProTour status after this racing season. I’m happy to see your very serious commitment to clean riding, and I hope other cycling teams and athletes in general will follow your lead.
