Race report from DS Johnny Weltz

Again a blazing fast start. We had Christophe Laurent in all the moves that went the first 40 km. But the day’s breakaway didn’t go until right after Tom Peterson was taken down in a crash with three other riders. (Tom is fine and finished the stage.)

There were no contenders in the breakaway, so the peloton let them go and take all the intermediate bonus seconds. The rest of the day developed as a long, easy chase that brought the break back with 10 km to go. The finish was another bunch sprint that resulted in no big changes in the overall classification.
