The opening prologue of the Volta a Catalunya was a fast, short 3.7 km time trial. The results of the race against the clock were slightly altered by late afternoon showers. The relatively young Argyle crew rode well against a stacked start list that included Fabian Cancellara, George Hincapie, and stage winner Thor Hushovd.
Christophe Laurent had the best time of the team and our youngster, Dan Martin also put in a solid performance, just 16″ off Hushovd’s winning time. Blake Caldwell was on a good ride until he suffered a flat!

What is going on with Tommy Gun?
Is he still ailing? 122nd?
good to see Tom Peterson back in the peloton. Not a shabby ride either at +19″ … Keep riding strong.
