Kilian Patour, Amstel Gold Race report from DS Johnny Weltz

Today’s double stage day got off to a roaring start this morning with the Argyle maing and taking all the breaks.

Right from 0 km, the guys were on fire! Will was in the first two-man break that got caught 200 meters from the first bonus sprint. Then Kilian took over and went in a eight-man breakaway, which rode very well together. With 20 km to go, the break split in two and Kilian was again in the front with three other riders.

So it came down to a sprint between the four in front. Kilian waited a bit to long to open the sprint and finished third. The stage winner also took over the GC lead. This is where Kilian would have been if it wasn’t for a flat on the first day.
