My husband and I are now devoted fans since meeting David at the final stage of this year’s TOC. He was gracious and personable when asked to sign our recently acquired Slipstream musette. Out of the hundreds of stages I’ve watched, Stage 5 (2008 Giro) ranks near or at the top for the most exciting final 5K finishes(Armstrong’s “no gifts” might rank higher). Out of the two (Brutt and Millar), David had the upper hand and would likely won if not for the mechanical. I was so excited I started yelling, jumping to my feet I screamed and yelled. Upon seeing David’s foot release I realized that Brutt was on course to finally winning a stage after so many failed breakaways (07-08). Bravo Brutt for his hard won victory. Keep it up David, you’re a consummate professional and worthy ambassador for Slipstream. Yesterday showed the passion and hunger you have for this wonderful sport. Kudos to all for bringing so many great riders and sportsmen together and for helping to rekindle my hope that the current stock of virtual heros will turn out to be real! Viva ll Gran Belle Giro!
