Will Frischkorn Things started today with a crazy, aggressive first 40 km; group after group getting a few seconds, the peloton splitting in half, and stress levels climbing well into the red. Then two riders attacked, everybody sat up, looked around for a bit and decided that was the move.

50, then 60, then 70 km later there was still a lot of looking at one and other, playing the waiting game on who would chase. And by the time things started up, despite the fact that it was screamin’ fast, it was too little too late. Five days to go with a lot of racing to come. But a lot of frustrated faces out there at the finish today.
